Welcome Back Letter

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the 2025–2026 school year at Westside Park Elementary School! Each new year brings exciting opportunities to make new friends, develop new skills, and achieve new goals. We look forward to working in partnership with you and our community to ensure that every student has a successful and enriching school year.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL – Thursday, August 7, 2025. ∙ SCHOOL HOURS: TK- 3rd grade: 9:00 AM - 3:15 PM (Tuesdays only: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM) 4th – 5th: 9:00 AM – 3:20 PM (Tuesdays only: 9:00 AM – 2:35 PM) 90 Minute Early Out days: TK-3rd grade: 1:45 PM; 4th-5th grade: 1:50 PM ∙ Class assignments will be posted on Friday, August 1, 2025 outside the school’s bulletin board.
BREAKFAST SCHEDULE- BREAKFAST IS SERVED BEFORE SCHOOL ONLY. Breakfast is served in the cafeteria from 8:30 am to 8:50 am each morning. Due to limited space, only students are allowed inside the cafeteria for breakfast. To support our new TK and Kindergarten students during the first 2 days of school (8/07/25 – 8/08/25), only 1 parent may enter the cafeteria with their TK and Kindergarten students. Please use this time to help your child become independent in taking care of his/her mealtime needs. Due to limited space, siblings and other family members are not allowed inside the cafeteria during breakfast. We appreciate your support in helping our breakfast time go smoothly. TK and Kindergarten students have reserved tables during breakfast to support their needs. All breakfast foods are for students only. Food is to remain inside the cafeteria.
NO NEED FOR LUNCH APPLICATIONS- Every child in our school will receive free breakfast, lunch, and snacks. Every family must have a completed Household Income Data Collection form. Please complete applications online at www.aesd.net (Recommended); paper applications are available in the front office.
TK-KINDER ORIENTATION – August 7, 2024, at 9:15 am in the cafeteria.
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT – Please be sure to attend on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at 4:30 pm for TK through 5th-grade students. Important information for this school year will be discussed.
Welcome Back, with a twist of Tangerine/Bingo- Join us on August 1, 2025, from 1:30 PM-3:30 PM for a fun event and a chance to meet staff. (As school begins, fresh and enthusiastic, May the joy and growth be your tangerine)
PERFECT ATTENDANCE- Good attendance is crucial for your child’s academic success. Students are to be on time every day and remain in school all day. This includes no late pick-ups after school has been dismissed.
PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK- Please read the important information in the handbook with your child and return the signature page to his/her teacher. The school site handbook and PBIS Handbook can be found at https://wsp.aesd.net/. Please return the signature page to his/her teacher by Aug. 29, 2025.
SCHOOL SAFETY –Safety is our top priority. Westside Park Elementary is a closed campus. Parents are encouraged to become volunteers.
